NCB's role is to combat drug trafficking and the use of illegal substances under the provisions of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances act.

It created on 17 the March 1986.

The Director General of NCB is an Officer of IPS and IRS(Indian Revenue Service.

NCB is not covered under RTI.

Rhea Chakrabarty has been arrested under section 8(C),27(a),28 and 29 of NDPS.
