NSD is Autonomous theatre train institute situated at New Delhi,India.


It was set up in 1959 by Sangeet Natak Academy  and became an Independent School on 1975.

Its Chairman is Paresh Rewal currently posted and Suresh Sharma as director from September 2018 to present.

Paresh Rewal received charge from Dr.Arjun Deo(2017-2020)

1st chairman-K V Rajamannar(1959-1961)

Indira Gandhi(1965-1972).
